En vista de la situación, los sobrevivientes, manteniendo la calma, utilizaron las habilidades adquiridas durante sus años de experiencia, para seguir el rumbo, con el fin de evitar que las fuertes olas por el mar de fondo hundieran la embarcación.

Los tripulantes cuentan que cuando ya se encontraban a 30 millas, los celulares comenzaron a tener señal, lo cual los tranquilizó más, pues después de hacer varias llamadas pudieron comunicarse con Alexander Dávila, vocero principal del muelle La Zorra, quien de inmediato activó al oficial de la Policía Nacional, Kevin Jiménez, quien estuvo en contacto vía telefónica con Juan de Mata, y la tripulación, hasta la mañana de este lunes 12 de febrero que fue cuando llegaron al muelle.
