Un absceso cerebral le fue diagnosticado el pasado sábado al pequeño Axel de 2 años de edad, por lo que requiere ser intervenido urgentemente, pero en La Guaira no se cuenta con una Unidad de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica.
Su abuela, Alicia Barrios, residenciada en la parroquia Carlos Soublette, informó que el pequeño está hospitalizado en el periférico de Pariata, y urge su traslado a la ciudad de Caracas.

“Hemos tocado puertas al hospital de niños JM. de Los Ríos y no hemos tenido respuesta positiva, porque dicen que no hay cupo en esa unidad. La hago un llamado a la directora Sacha García para que tome en el caso de Axel”
Barrios indicó que la situación del niño ha empeorado, “estamos a la buena de Dios. Hemos tocado todas las puertas, hemos ido de hospital a hospital, médico a médico, director a director, y no hemos tenido respuestas”.
