La Planta Desalinizadora de Mare Abajo, en Carlos Soublette, fue reinaugurada este miércoles por el Ministro de Atención de Aguas, Marco Torres, y el gobernador, José Alejandro Terán, quienes puntualizaron que la misma cuenta con una capacidad de producción de 400 litros por día en su primera fase.
De acuerdo con el ministro, esta planta permitirá atender a más de 25 mil habitantes en los sectores de Mare Abajo I, Cabo Blanco, Bloques de Bolipuerto, Villa Mar, escuela y liceo Cruz Felipe Iriarte, de la parroquia Urimare, para dar respuesta a uno de los problemas más persistentes de los guaireños, que es la escasez del vital líquido.

“Con la puesta en marcha de esta planta, también reactivamos un tanque de almacenamiento y distribución con capacidad de 1.800.000 litros de agua”, comentó.
Torres también destacó que se realizó la entrega de equipamiento, como vehículos y maquinaria, a Hidrocapital, por parte del ejecutivo nacional, para aumentar la capacidad operativa en La Guaira, específicamente para los trabajos que se están realizando en el sistema Maya Picure, desde donde aspiran captar 600 litros de agua.
