El historiador Pedro Calzadilla asumirá la presidencia de la Fundación Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos Rómulo Gallegos (Celarg), tras la designación del presidente Nicolás Maduro, informó el ministro para la Cultura, Ernesto Villegas.
A través de su cuenta en la red social X, el titular recordó que Calzadilla se ha desempeñado en varios cargos en el Gobierno, entre ellos ministro de Cultura y presidente del Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE). Además, años atrás formó parte del equipo del Celarg como tallerista y director de publicaciones.

“Informo: El Presidente @NicolasMaduro ha designado al historiador Pedro Calzadilla como presidente de la Fundación Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos Rómulo Gallegos (Celarg)”, publicó Villegas este lunes en la red social.
“La institución, adscrita a @minculturave, estuvo encabezada por Roberto Hernández Montoya, brillante intelectual recientemente fallecido”, explicó el ministro al agregar que “Pedro Calzadilla viene de ejercer la presidencia del CNE. Ex titular de MINCULTURA, en su juventud formó parte del equipo del Celarg como tallerista y director de publicaciones”.
Finalmente, expresó: “Le damos la bienvenida al amigo y compatriota Pedro Calzadilla y comprometemos todo nuestro respaldo para el éxito en la nueva etapa que se abre con su llegada a esta institución cultural venezolana con proyección internacional”.
